I like fishing when I get a chance but don't tend to spend a fortune because I'm abroad alot and don't take it serious enough to be spending big mioney on it. I always went to Henry's to get my bits and bobs over the years so although not a brilliant customer I was a loyal one up till now. In the past I've recomended Henry's tackle shop to freinds but won't be doing that anymore after an easily avoided confrontation. I bought a rod (30E) and reel (35 euro second hand) and a few bits and bobs adding up to 130E altogether. I went fishing the next day and after about 8 casts the reel began clicking and it was clear there was a problem. OK my days fishing was off and I had a boat hired that day so it was a pain in the arse. When I tested the reel in the shop by simply spining the handle everything seemed fine but once any pressure was put on (pulling a spinner through the water!!) the gear was skipping. I brought it back yesterday (a week later) and I was given a hard time about getting a replacement reel for same price. I was told there was no gaurentee on second hand stuff (once taken from the shop!!). So if you buy anything second hand expect the same treatment as I got. He actually let it slip when he said that ''those reels are seviced before sale'' and I said ''in that case you should have spotted a gear problem'' and he said they knew there was a little problem there so why was he giving me a hard time about getting a replacement for something he sold me knowing there was something wrong with it? I wouldn't have bought it if I new the gears where on their way out. STAY CLEAR OF THE PLACE FOR SECOND HAND STUFF. It's not worth the risk if you're willing to spend hard earned cash!!
