My experience at Docklands Dental has been very negative. They just try to make money and it is so obvious. The reason for visiting the dentist was gum disease, and although I knew that I had to get cleaned, I also knew that wasn't something very bad, as I do have periodical periodontal cleanings and I take lots of care of my mouth. I made an appointment with the hygienist and they made me visit the dentist before, but they didn't mention that the cost was 40 Euro. During the appointment he told me that it looked quite bad, that my teeth were moving, that I should get cleaned ASAP and that I could also need surgery. He wanted to take some X-rays and was "selling" them to me, explaining the prices depending on the size. At this point I got quite scared, so I got the X-rays done (he then even found a caries) and the appointments with the hygienist. When going to pay, they wanted to charge me 70 Euro for an appointment they forced me to do and the X-rays. Obviously I complained as I wasn't even informed, and didn't pay for the visit. However, I visited the hygienist twice, 140 Euro each time, 1 hour appointment which wasn't one hour because picks you up at least 5 minutes later and finishes much before the hour, wasting time, asking you how do you clean your teeth and explaining you how to do it each time. She wanted to clean one part one day and another day the other one. I told her to clean it all so I didn't have half mouth done, and to do it deeper the following time. While she was cleaning she used to stop, make time, continue, stop again... I just had both treatments done because I didn't want to waste more time searching for another dentist, but I already knew that they were stealing me. At the end of the second treatment my mouth felt good so I decided to still give it a chance and do the follow up check in 3 months. This time 30 minutes (which were 10 of cleaning if) and 70 Euro. When I got in she said: Well, last time we didn't finish the right part so today will do it! I couldn't believe it, twice there, 2 appointments of 140 Euro each, and you are telling me that there was a part left to be done?? She changed face and told me that there wasn't a part left to be done from last time... I then decided not to go back, and I am glad, as I have found a great dentist that really cares about his patients and gives real advice without trying to make business. As it turns out, I don't have caries, and as I already knew, my teeth aren't moving. Moreover, when getting new X-rays turns out that my bones are in a quite good shape, so where does the idea of having surgery come from?
