Company description

Dubliners is a self-guided audio-walking tour that invites you to tour the streets and historic buildings in which Joyce set his classic stories, whilst you listen to his stories in situ on headphones, as they are told and performed for you on headphones by a large ensemble cast of celebrated Irish actors, led by the celebrated actor Barry McGovern.

Three tours ranging from four to ten stories, and two to eight hours in duration, combined with extra features on Joycean Dublin and its history, guide the Joycean enthusiast right across his city – from pub to church to the glories of Georgian Dublin.

Tours are available whenever the James Joyce Centre is open. A ten story 3 hour souvenir CD of the Dubliners walk is also widely available in Irish book and CD shops.

‘Brilliantly delivered... an atmospheric journey through Edwardian Dublin with flawless dramatisations of the stories...it is spine tingling stuff...’ Daragh Reddin Metro

‘The tour is extremely impressive... beautiful recordings of fabulous stories... and a large cast of inspirationally voiced actors... for anyone who loves Joyce it’s a must’ Kate O’Connor, QualityWaffle

‘ A wonderfully conceived idea, walking the streets of Joyce's Dublin has a transporting effect that stays with you long after the Mp3 has been returned.’ Lauren O’Toole entertainment.ie

‘A thrilling experience. At times it verges on the ghostly.’ Louise Finn The Dubliner.

‘An accomplished adaptation...a treat for any fan’ Eithne Shorthall, The Sunday Times.

Reviews

Fabulous cast on the recording and a novel idea. (Sorry didn't mean to pun that time.) Will take the walk within the next few weeks and will recommend to friends in the meantime. Good luck with it.
